Project Grant for Organizations (PGO) support arts and culture projects that are relevant and meaningful to Rhode Island communities. It is our entry-level grant program, and PGO funds the broadest range of cultural activities.
Folk and Traditional Arts Fellowships (FAF) support individual folk artists who demonstrate the highest level of skill and accomplishment in their craft.
Project Grants in Education (PGE) provide project-specific support to schools, nonprofit organizations, arts educators, and teaching artists to engage students in rich and meaningful artistic experiences in dedicated learning environments. Proposed grants must be experiential and focus on the exploration of art and the artistic process. The grant strives to build the capacity of local teaching artists and nonprofit organizations, while offering students high-quality artistic learning experiences.
The Rhode Island State Council on the Arts (RISCA) Community Engaged Project Grants (CEPG) support arts and culture projects that directly and actively engage the public in Rhode Island and/or a specific Rhode Island community.
Make Art Grants (MAG) support artists to create or continue specific artwork in any discipline. Projects must have specific goals, though completion and public showing of the art is not required. Projects must be artist instigated and organized, outside of institutional support and structures. Open to projects of all arts disciplines, from artists of all levels, funds can be used to support experimentation, materials, space rental, paying collaborators, documentation, and artist stipends.
Arts and Health Grants support nonclinical art programs with health-related goals that take place in health-based or community spaces. The grant funds both nonclinical arts engagements that promote and facilitate individual health and art activities that address the social determinants of health to provide a community health benefit.
